3D Screen Printing for Fabric
In the recent years, the use of 3D printing in the fashion industry has been increasing, during the creative process, for prototyping or even for production, additive manufacturing gives fashion a wide range of possibilities and fascinates some designers.
3D Screen Printing
3D Screen Printing on fabrics requires some precautions, but it’s incredibly easy to do. The way it’s done is through the nozzle of a 3D printer heats up to 230 degrees Celsius or more, and is easily capable of burning holes in any fabric it touches.
3D printed T-Shirt
It would be best to try making a 3D printed T-Shirt with an old shirt or something one doesn’t mind damaging, if things go all wrong. And whatever happens, the machine must not be left unattended. For the 3D printed T-Shirt, it is important to select a simple, bold design. And just to be on the safe side, one should make sure the layers of the 3D printed T-shirt motif are exactly the same.

The exported 3D design with a height of (for example) 0.6 mm, so the result would be a small 3-layer print on with a 0.2 mm Nozzle. So it’s even possible to add some additional layers.
import the design
The next step is to import the design to the 3D slicing software of choice. The most commonly used is Simplify 3D, but it is possible to achieve the same in other slicer software, such as Cura. Make sure to set the print to 100 percent infill for the first series of test prints.
